National Park Ybycui (Parque Nacional Ybycui) and the Lago Ypacarai watershed
When
August 2022- Present
Who
Bioparque Yrupe, dMeter
This national park has hundreds of hectares protected under a national park of some of the last large scale remnants of the Atlantic Forest of Paraguay. Deforestation has led to eutrophication of a national treasure, Lake Ypacarai, causing fish to die and a ramsar status wetland downstream to start dying off. Working with a biopark in Paraguay to set up data collection relevant to the local context. Expanding in time to further sites across the watershed.
